The establishment of an advisory board has helped the Closing the Gap Healthcare Group leverage its strengths and future opportunities. The Board assists with strategic planning, provides introductions to potential customers, shares expertise to help increase and diversify the revenue stream, offers an external perspective to our organization and advocates to the health care system the advantages of contracting high quality health care companies like us.

Lynne Golding has been practicing law for over 20 years and is currently a partner at Fasken Martineau Law Firm. She is also the National Director of the firm's Health Law Practice group.

Adam Topp, Chief Operating Officer, Winnipeg Health Regional Authority
Adam holds an MBA and BA&Sc. from McMaster University. Within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority, Adam is also responsible for the regional programs of Child Health, Diagnostic Imaging, Respiratory Therapy and Clinical Engineering. Prior to joining WRHA, Adam was a Senior Associate Consultant with Hay Group Health Care Consulting focusing on health care policy development, health services planning and working with the healthcare vendor community on issues related to private delivery and purchasing behaviour and influences. Prior to joining HayGroup, he was Vice President Clinical Operations at Sunnybrook & Women’s College Health Sciences Centre where he had previously held the position of Vice President Corporate Performance & Chief Financial Officer. He is currently a member of the Board of Salus Global Corporation and is a Past-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC).

John King, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, St. Michaels’s Hospital, Toronto
John King has over 30 years of health care experience. He was Senior Vice President of the Alberta Healthcare Association and Senior Operating Officer of several Alberta hospitals under the umbrella of the Calgary Regional Health Authority before moving to Ontario to become Assistant Deputy Minister of Programs in the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care. Appointed in 2002 as Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer at St. Michael's Hospital, John oversees finance, planning, information systems, human resources, legal services, corporate performance, medical imaging, labs, pharmacy, and supply chain and support services functions. John is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and received his Masters in Health Administration from the University of Ottawa. He is a Certified Health Executive with the Canadian College of Health Leaders - CCHL (formerly Canadian College of Health Service Executives – CCHSE). John is actively involved with the College and was appointed Chairman of the Board in June 2010. John is an avid supporter of international exchange programs with physicians, administrators and politicians from Canada and Scandinavian countries.

Adalsteinn (Steini) D. Brown, Dalla Lana School of Public Health
Adalsteinn Brown became the Dalla Lana Chair of Public Health Policy at the University of Toronto and a Scientist in the Keenan Research Centre of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael's Hospital on the first of January, 2011. Past roles span the public, private, and government sectors and include Assistant Deputy Minister for strategy at the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-term Care and for science and research at the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation, Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy, Management, and Evaluation (University of Toronto), and a founding role in consulting, software, and internet companies.

Eric A. Morse, Ph.D., Associate Dean – Programs, Richard Ivey School of Business
Eric is the founder  and Academic Director of the  Ivey and KPMG Enterprise’s Quantum Shift Executive Program for Exceptional Entrepreneurs. Having worked with a diverse range of corporate clients, his research focuses on, entrepreneurial strategy and has been published in numerous business journals.

Bernard Naumann, FCIA, FSA, Senior Vice President, Individual Reinsurance
Bernard is qualified as a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and as a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries in 1997. Following graduation at the University of Waterloo in 1994, he started his career working for an actuarial consulting firm where his responsibilities included individual life valuation, system sales and migrations, and merger and acquisition support. After 5 years in the consulting arena, he then took a position with a Munich Reinsurance in Toronto. He is currently SVP Individual Reinsurance with Munich Re, responsible for Individual Life and Living Benefits Pricing, Marketing, Research, Underwriting and Claims.

Honourable Elinor Caplan, Chief Executive Officer, Canada Strategies Inc.
Elected MP for Thornhill (1997-2004) She served in the Chrétien Cabinet as Minister of Citizenship & Immigration (1999-2002 & Minister of National Revenue (2002-2003). Elinor chose to retire from elected office in 2004. Her 'Caplan Report' (2007), a review of Home Care procurement policy & practices for the Ontario Minister of Health & Long Term Care, (MOHLTC) was accepted by government & is now being implemented. Presently, Elinor is a member of a World Health Organization (WHO) International expert project Team.

Marilyn Monk, Executive Vice President, Programs and Services, The Hospital For Sick Children
Ms. Marilyn Monk was appointed to the position of Executive Vice President, Clinical in September 2010. In this role, Ms. Monk provides executive leadership to all clinical services and programs across SickKids, with a goal of maximizing the integration of clinical services and programs to enable SickKids to continue to provide the best possible care for its patients and their families.

Dr. Tom McGowan, Chief of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Credit Valley Hospital.
Dr. McGowan trained as a radiation oncologist at Princess Margaret Hospital, graduated in 1991, and began working there at that point. In 1995, he graduated from the University of Toronto with an MBA, and in 1998 started to work at Cancer Care Ontario - first as coordinator of the Radiation Treatment Program, and then as Executive Vice-President. From January 2001 until August 2003 he ran CROS, a privately managed, publically funded department of Radiation Oncology.
