assess an individual's physical abilities and establish treatment plans to help regain strength, flexibility, balance and endurance. The client and the physiotherapist will work together to improve physical ability, functional ability and/or compensate for reduced balance, pain, weakness or altered movement.

assess an individual's ability to communicate effectively and their ability to swallow safely. Speech Language Pathologists look at ways to improve the ability to speak and provide alternate ways to communicate when speech is not functional. They also provide recommendations to prevent complications from swallowing problems.
Since 1988 our therapists have delivered
OHIP funded home care services
(physiotherapy, occupational therapy and
speech language pathology) under contract
to the Central East and South East Community
Care Access Centres (CCAC). Our CCAC
home care rehabilitation program plays a
vital role in helping clients achieve safety
and independence in their own homes.
In-home rehabilitation is often required
after
discharge from hospital following surgery;
after a medical event such as a stroke
or
heart attack; in relation to a chronic
condition
such as Multiple Sclerosis; or as a result of decreased functional
abilities due to aging. Therapists also help clients access adaptive
equipment and/or home modifications. We also provide home care
through Veterans' Affairs and for rehabilitation after Motor Vehicle
Accidents.
